Volunteers Spruce up the Lake Mansfield Beach Area

The Lake Mansfield Beach Area is looking better because of hardworking volunteers.

On May 14th the weather was beautiful, a group of yogis were being led in their weekly practice by Senta Reis, and a group of 14 volunteers arrived, dressed to paint!  Shabby picnic tables were transported to our drop cloth, painting area. Many hands made short work of scraping and sanding. Then folks grabbed brushes and rollers to apply the bright paint provided by the town DPS. All but 2 picnic tables were freshly painted.  In addition to painting, graffiti that had been spray painted on park trees was removed and roughly cut roadside brush was trimmed . . . while two industrious volunteers focused on collecting litter and debris.

Our May 21st Beach Area workday was forecast to be hot and humid, but 6 volunteers took advantage of morning mist and light lake breeze.  The picnic table painting project was completed and the mulch in the swing-set area was raked back into shape.  In all 64 hours of work time was contributed! And equally important, Lake Mansfield families connected with each other while contributing their time to help our community. Now bright clean picnic tables are ready for Lake Mansfield visitors.

Thank you, volunteers!
