Lake Mansfield Community Planting Day: A HUGE Success!

Great Barrington Land Conservancy collaborated with Helia Native Nursery and Ward’s Nursery and Garden Center to support habitat improvements at Lake Mansfield, a town-owned natural resource area considered a great community treasure by residents and seasonal visitors.

Over 33 volunteers planted and watered 287 Trees and 170 shrubs on  In the Lake Mansfield Recreational Area on Saturday November 12th, 2024.

250 Trees were planted to rehabilitate the forest area between the new parking area and the Lake Mansfield Forest.  38 Trees and 170 Shrubs were planted in the buffer zone between Lake Mansfield and new shoreline trail.

In total, the value of this collaboration project can be conservatively estimated at $21,454.14 .
