The Greenagers winter trail crew is a hearty bunch! Challenged but undaunted by servely cold conditions, they worked to complete a much needed improvement at the Pfeiffer Arboretum The work began offsite with the milling of lumber needed to complete the project Winter was chosen as the best time to complete repairs of the Pfeiffer Bridge Boardwalk to minimize impacts in a sensitive habitat area The work area was swept and sleds were used to transport tools and materials in and out of the worksite The replacement locust, milled by Greenagers, needed to be carefully chosen to fit pre-existing footers Hauling in and then carefully pairing up boards took a good amount of time and effort! Locust is not only rot-resistant, it is heavy! Greenagers Crew, including Americorp members carried the lumber from the Pfieffer Arboretum access road All the support base logs were checked and replaced as needed, then the new material was leveled and secured
