Folks are enjoying ice skating at Lake Mansfield!

Can you go ice skating on Lake Mansfield? The answer is yes! Snow is removed by volunteer community members and ice conditions are changeable, so it's good to keep your expectations flexible. Please scout out conditions before you make a plan. All skaters are responsible for their own safety, check the Mass.gov ice strength and safety guidelines

Looking for places to explore on foot this winter? Check out our sampling of winter hikes and snowshoe destinations in the Southern Berkshires right here.

You can continue to explore (with or without snowshoes or skis) the new Riverfront Trail, Lake Mansfield Conservation Forest Trails, Pfeiffer Arboretum, and Threemile Hill Trail at Fountain Pond. Housatonic River Walk is closed for the season (check the website for spring opening dates). Please observe our COVID-19 Trail Rules to keep everyone safe.

Be safe, stay hydrated, and bundle up!
