Sept 9, 2004 - An industrious team of GBLC volunteers installed 3 Bobolink Signs at the McAllister Wildlife Refuge. Thanks to the design work of Ben Barrett, double locust posts were used to support these information signs located at key positions for observing Bobolinks when they are nesting (May - August).

Not everyone is comfortable with snakes, toads and turtles. But given a chance for a closer look, all of us can be amazed at the adaptivity and complex life of these amazing creatures. On Thursday July 25th 2024 30 kids and their big folks met Tom Tyning's Scaled, Tailed and Bulging Eye Friends. This event was a collaborative event with CHP!

On July 14th 2024, Twenty folks participated in the Guided Bobolink Walk at the McAllister Wildlife.
Members of the Hoffman Bird Club, John Felton and Greg Ward, helped us to see, hear and learn a lot about the life history of Bobolinks.
We also learned about the Kestrel nesting box installed by the Berkshire Bird Observatory and the ongoing banding and educational efforts of Ben Nickley.
July 3rd, 2004 - Each summer season GBLC lines up a Greenager Crew for a day or two to help with summer trail maintenance at Lake Mansfield. It's a way of hiring local teens to work on local trails at the height of the trail maintaining season. This year the timing couldn't have been better, just as the Lake Mansfield newly improved lakeside trail and beach area were welcoming the public, Greenagers was there in force! There was a lot to be done, but this strong, skilled crew of 8 were nothing but GREAT!
